New Indy Trailer

Sure, Indy is moving around like Bionic Commando, but I do not give any measure of shit. This looks awesome. Now to find a woman who will dress up as She-Wolf Cate Blanchett for the premiere.

At a news conference in Brooklyn, state Atty. Gen. Andrew M. Cuomo said the arrests served as a message that “organized crime still exits. . . . We like to think it’s a vestige of the past. It’s not. It is as unrelenting as weeds that continue to sprout in the cracks of society.
Seems the [...]

The teaser for the upcoming Futurama movie was showed off at ComicCon, but now the extended version has hit the GoogTubes. Welcome back Futurama, you were missed.

Lois Maxwell, the original Miss Moneypenny, has died at age 80. BBC News has a tribute from Roger Moore, who knew Maxwell even before he took over the role of James Bond.
I think it was a great disappointment to her that she had not been promoted to play M. She would have been a wonderful [...]

Lightsaber in Orbit

In a nod to an icon, NASA Shuttle to Launch Luke Skywalker’s Lightsaber. This makes me sad because it reminds me that Carrie Fisher’s breasts are no longer in the same pristine (and perky) condition. [www.space.com]

If, by some act of reverse metempsychosis, we took all that was worthy in George Lucas’ imagination and injected it into Jules Verne, this might have resulted a century earlier: the steampunk lightsaber, hand-crafted here by a friend of “CaptainChewbacca” at the Stardestroyer.net forums.
I’ve never really been a gigantic Star Wars fan, but I must [...]

Johnny Cool Trailer

I’d link this just for Elizabeth Montgomery alone, but the line “the international murder machine they just couldn’t turn off” seals the deal. I would like to enjoy this movie in my home. If only that were possible using technology!

When I first looked at this pictures snapped surreptiously by a member of the ClubRSX forum I thought, Gosh, I don’t remember Superman looking quite so fabulous. And that’s saying a lot for a hero who wears a cape. But when I saw Spidey dropping to give Venom a little oral pleasure, I knew something [...]

No Country for Old Men looks like it could be a plodding, kooky murder bit with typical cornball bad guys going up against the tough-as-nails cowboy. But it’s directed by the Coen brothers, who could make it all work.

And lo, it is sort of terrible. Which is to say, as a film it ranks somewhere between Star Wars: Episode I and a moldy bread pudding. There is an entire subplot with a group of hackers and John Turturro that could be excised from its two-hour-plus running time and no one would be the [...]

We went out to dinner with our neighbors the other day and ended up discussing movies; the topic turned to the upcoming Transformers flick. Our friends aren’t particularly snobby or anything, but they expressed disbelief that I could be so excited about such an obvious rock ‘em schlock ‘em robots adventure. Susie reminded me that [...]

Whenever I get a package of plain M&Ms, I make it my duty to continue the strength and robustness of the candy as a species. To this end, I hold M&M duels. Taking two candies between my thumb and forefinger, I apply pressure, squeezing them together until one of them breaks and splinters. That is the “loser,” and I eat the inferior one immediately. The winner gets to go another round.
