Announcing This Week’s Theme: Gifts for Guys

This week’s theme is an experiment: a collaborative wish-list of things we want for the holidays.

Here’s how it will work: You’ll submit the listing for things you want—this is the time to really get greedy!—including a link to an online catalog and a short description. I’ll make sure the submission passes muster and will put it on the site, along with a Digg voting button.

Update: I wanted to use Digg as our voting system but it’s going to be a huge pain in the ass. Instead, I’ll manually collect all the gift posts at the end of the week and we’ll vote on them them with a poll.

The rest of you: Send me the one thing you most hope to receive this year. Price isn’t a concern, although I’ll split them up into “stuffers,” “modest,” and “spendy” categories as we go through the week. By Friday we should have sorted through lots of stuff to create a list we can pass on to those who should be buying us the gifts we definitely deserve.

P.S. Specific recommendations are better than broad categories, so if you want to suggest an HDTV, let’s say, pick one or two specific models instead of submitting just the category as a whole. We’re trying to help our loved ones buy exactly the stuff want.

P.P.S. Yes, I am thinking about doing the same thing for “gifts for women,” but am planning on doing that as an secondary theme next this week.
