Gears of War 2 — November 2008

I loved Gears of War. Gears was the safety blanket that made losing Halo and the Master Chief a little less harsh — I can hardly wait to chain-saw me some 13 year old multi-play dweebage. Plus the lighting/music effects in the GoW adventure were actually creepy!

The effectiveness of this tried and trusted console war weapon was dulled somewhat when Epic inevitably brought what amounts to a directors cut of the game to the PC late last year. That move raised some doubt over whether Gears of War 2 would be an Xbox 360 exclusive. Now that doubt has been eradicated with a brutal swipe of a chainsaw – Gears 2 will be an Xbox 360 exclusive. November 2008 is going to be a fantastic month for all Xbox 360 owners. Sorry PS3 fans, but you have to admit to a hint of jealousy.
