Ross Jeffries’ Gentle Touch

Posted in: Women

coachjeffries.jpgI am not overly familiar with the world of “pick-up artist” training, although because I have made a tacit proclamation of expertise in all things manly by dint of opening this site, I’ve slowly started to become familiar with it in hopes of a future theme week on dating.

Of course, my girlfriend of five years and I are in a very loving, healthy relatifalskhfasf oh, God, give me that sweet, teenage poon.

Before Neil Strauss wrote The Game—the how to score guide du jour—there was a guy named Ross Jeffries, whose seminars involved much browbeating and a purported “mass hypnosis” that capitalized on the insecurities of its attendees to…help them?

I’m not sure what, exactly, Jeffries’ goals were, beyond milking money from lonely shlubs, but this seven-years-later follow-up by 10 Zen Monkeys’ Jeff Diehl paints a depressing picture:

Sadly for her, she was extremely tired from partying the night before, and soon after swallowing a questionable “wake me up” pill, she fell asleep during Ross’ class. About 30 minutes later, he noticed and jarred her awake by screaming at her. When Cara awoke, she was tripping balls, eyes bugging wildly, and the sight of Ross’ hideous mug barking in her face was enough to really freak her out. She grabbed my forearm for support and I led her into the hallway for reassurance before we returned to class.

I’ve not read Jeffries’ or Strauss’ books, but it sounds like I’ll be skipping the former and going right to the latter.

For science, of course.
