Help Save Japanoid, From the Comfort of the Internet

Posted in: Cars

japsoniod.jpgThe folks behind Japanoid.com are asking Canadian citizens to put pressure on their government to reconsider a proposed tweaking of the import law that would push back the limit from 15 years to 25 years. Confused? Right now, after 15 years a car is considered a “classic,” and not as heavily regulated as modern cars, including the awesome little K-cars sold by Japanoid. If the Canadian government pushes the law back to 25 years, then Canadians would be in the same sad shape as we Americans, unable to import cars from other countries until they’ve over a quarter of a century.

It’s supposedly a safety issue, but that’s bunk. I’m all about modern cars being as safe as possible, but older cars aren’t ridiculously unsafe or anything, especially those hailing from Germany, Japan, and the UK. It’s not like we’re talking about a Pinto or anything.

Oh, and even if you’re not Canadian, you can still digg their story to help them get some attention.

Stop the 25 year rule! [Japanoid]
