Pipolino Feeder: Making Cats Work for Their Supper
Posted in: Gadgets
Book, our fat tuxedo cat, has been on a permanent diet for the last several months, as her post-spaying weight has been dangerously high. She’s out of immediate feline diabetes danger, but she could still stand to lose a couple of pounds, and the “Pipolino cat feeder and exerciser looks like it might do the trick.
After placing dry food inside, a cat will be forced to roll the Pipolino around to get to their food, giving them the motivation to get their fat ass off the couch to get the food they need. A few bits of kibble drop as the cats paw at the tube; most cats eat the bits as they fall out, preventing a floor full of cat food.
Problem for us: the Pipolino is only available in Europe for the moment. I have no intention of paying 30 euro plus an unknown amount of shipping for a plastic tube. Someone import some of these or make a knock-off soon or I will be forced to frighten the cats for days with the sound of a Dremel tool.
