The 9v USB Charger “Blob” Version

This is a first, folks. For a while, this mini-mod was always a saucy little secret of mine, but I suppose I’ll let you in on it.

Rather than assembling the 9v USB Charger in an Altoids tin, you could just connect the 9v battery snap to the 5v regulator, and wire that to the USB port all with wires as small as possible and bind it all up with electrical tape. There’s no art form to it, and it’s rather difficult to make it look anything but ugly, but boy-o is it ever small.

This just demonstrates the versitility of the Electroids kits and DIY electronics in general. You aren’t following directions off a page because it’s the only way to do it, you’re doing whatever you want to do because it’s your project. Make it your own.
