Morning Tonic: Lion and Cub

I realized it’s been weeks since I posted up a picture of a lion, even though it says that’s part of our bailiwick right there in the second-column description. The Denver Zoo’s “Predator Ridge” comes to the rescue, with this show showing the an adult male showing a young cub how to craft a toothpick, right before the adult devours the cub whole.

(Speaking of, I’ve finally gotten around to reading Capstick’s “Death in the Long Grass”. Intense! I’ll hold back from talking about it until I’m done, but I just read the introductory section about lions, and it is harrowing. It doesn’t make me want to be a big game hunter at all.)
