No Regrets: Batwings For Eyebrows

I’d been out of the comic book habit for years by the time the graphic novel arrived, and I’ll own up to thinking that Watchmen was utterly brilliant (and like the rest of you nerds I also wonder when the movie is coming out and who’s doing it this week). But in my school, The Dark Knight Returns trumped all. We were crazy for it, and it definitely helped shape the future career of one kid we knew, Bill, who went on to be a pretty decent comic book artist. He was always sketching Batman stuff and boots and things. But, y’see, Bill also knew when to draw the line, so to speak, and pay some attention to things like girls.

This winner left that line in the Bat-dust, along with his Bat-mind and any chance he’ll ever have for getting Bat-laid. I’d love to see him when he’s fifty Bat-years old.
