Magic Move: The secret of Hollywood hairdressers, this stuff comes from the land of all things technologically superior, Japan. Essentially, it’s a tub of goop that adds body and control to the hair with “thready organic fibers”. It is not subject to humidity, and thus can be screwed with several times a day for different looks. Most guys will opt for one style all day, though. Still, the fact that it requires so little to achieve such effects makes it economical and a worthy addition to your bathroom cabinet. Works best if you use a blow drier to style and the cool setting to lock into place. I doubt you can make it look like the dude on the right, but power to you if you want to try.
More one of a kind gunk after the jump.
Keil’s Silk Groom: An anti-frizz shine serum, great to the point where it’s in a class by itself. Extremely light, rich with hair nutrients, it feels like your hair hasn’t been this healthy and soft since your birth. Sweet, light fragrance, non-objectionable to you macho types.
Sebastian Xtah Raw Modeler Crude Clay: Not the cheapest stuff out there, but there’s nothing else like it. Yup, it looks and feels exactly like clay, rather gritty, and at first you wonder why the hell you’d want to put this stuff in your hair. It’s a matte finish, absolutely kills the shine no matter how healthy your hair is, but man, the shit you can do with it is intense, and sometimes the dirty look is a sexy look. (Consider Benicio Del Toro’s appeal and you’ll take my meaning.) Great for the “I just rolled out of bed and it looked this good already” look. Difficult to work through longer hair unless it’s wet first, but a little water helps distribute it evenly. Total crap for body, but nothing adds thickness like this stuff, not to mention moldability. Use a wide tooth comb or just your fingers; most brushes, even the wide round bristled kind will wind up ripping your hair out with this shit in it. I’ve mixed it with 1:1 ratio of Murray’s to profound effect, so mess around.
