Beer Review: Spaten Oktoberfest?!?

What bullshit is Dethroner trying to pass off as a review? Spaten? WHAT? But thats the six pack I’m drinking my way through right now — we’ll, lets be honest I mixed up three 6ers into a Spaten Oktoberfest, Jack’s Pumpkin Spice Ale and Old Foghorn triumvirate of beer drinking ROI.

I’ve got admit, I’ve got two other reviews to write in front of this one — but I’m not gonna. I’m having too much fun drinking my way through this beer medley. The Spaten is great. I’ve spent enough time in the Spaten tent at Oktoberfest, as well as various Spaten bierhausen (?) in Munich to know its my third favorite Munich brewery. I much prefer Schneider-Weisse and number two is Ayinger. Spaten is a great, you aren’t able to get what you want, so I’m gonna trinke Spaten kinda beer.

The Oktoberfest is kinda dark golden and it has the traditional very malty, barely hopped Oktoberfest thing going on. I like it. I like drinking it. It smells like an Oktoberfest (not like Oktoberfest, that smells like cotton candy, beer and piss.) It tastes exactly like an Oktoberfest should. You can buy this beer with little to no fear.

As a side note — Schneider-Weiss & Ayinger are not actually Munich beers. The list (if I’m correct) goes as follows:

Augustiner, Hofbraeu, Spaten, Loewenbraeu, Paulaner & Hacker-Pschorr.

I’ve helpfully listed them in order of how good they are. I will agree, though. Schneider-Weiss makes the best beer I’ve had & they also have the nicest beer hall in Munich. As for the grammatical question, it would actually be “Bierhalle.” So says LEO, at the very least.

Mmmm, that sounds so good. I had an Ayinger Oktoberfest a couple of weeks ago and it was quite tasty, but I am partial to them for their Ur Weisse and Brau Weisse are my favorite summer beers. Anyway, I must now try the Schneider-Weiss, though, because they make awesome beer, too. Thanks for making me thirsty at work!
