Looks like based on the protesting going on in Europe as well as the attempts to steal or douse the Olympic flame that the committee is likely going to be canceling the relay.
Love you Golden Gate Bridge Three heroes. Thank you for your bravery. The world should know. The world knows! Now we need to let Tibetans know that they are not alone. The world is rooting for them. Shame on China. Free Tibet!
IGNORANT AMERICANS! IGNORANT AMERICANS! If China does not deserve the Olympics for their “unrighteous” occupation of Tibet, then the USA–the AMERICANS–did NOT deserve the Olympics for decades!
How about America’s bullying and occupation of Asian countries after WWII to export our dirty tobacco, i.e. Thailand, causing lung cancer to be a primary health threat which otherwise never existed in Thailand?
How about the unjust war in Iraq? How about the human rights violations committed by the US regarding the war on terror and Iraq?
Look back at all the wonderful BULLYING and VIOLATIONS of human rights and sovereignty that the US committed.
AMERICA AIN’T SO HOT. AMERICA AIN’T SO CLEAN. AMERICA AIN’T SO HOLY.
Yep Mr. Reality, you’re right. America’s history has been very far from perfect, with many shameful moments. And we talk about them here, openly, in order to create a better society and world.
And also true is that China is a repressive police state that is imprisoning Tibetans and wiping out their culture.
That’s what the protest thing is about, the protests your compatriots will not see on Chinese state-run TV. Injustice and state violence, wherever it is, is wrong. What part of this do you not understand?
Let’s not leave out any part of reality, ok? By the way, you don’t need to shout–it just makes you look lame.
I saw on the news a shot of a supporter or China arguing with a protester. The protester was dressed in all black with a hoodie and a cloth covering their face. How could anyone take him seriously? That protester probably knew nothing about what they were protesting for.
Not only do I see the Olympics in China and China’s politics as too very seperate things. But aren’t the Olyimpics about all the nations coming together to participate in friendly sports and well….have fun?
Of course what China is doing to Tibet is wrong, as are many other things they are doing. But I don’t believe that trying to stop a group of ( Mostly American ) Athletes and “Heroes” performing what should be a great honor to do. Instead of protesting them. Why not have another set date to protest in front of a Chinese embassy or something.
So, but what is the point to leave a country where democracy is far to be the ruler, be the supporter of an Olympics?
I dont understand how we given to China those Olympics, when themselves, have a dictatorial ruler going on!
When Spain presented Madrid 2012 candidature to be an Olympic City, they refused us because we are’nt too much a sure country, but Them left China!!!
And how United States, the most ignorant country in the world, who are ever thinking the same “World is: America, and the others”, they think that them are the world’s very perfect country, a country that allows the Guantanamo (by example) unfairy situation. Im no saying that Europe is perfect, but , altought, we arent all the time repeating the same “God made america, and then, tired, puted few land togheter and made the other countries”
No, no man.
But when i see so many people protesting and triyin to light off the olympic torch, i know we aren’t alone. If tibet claims for help, people answers and advice about the unfair.
But why US could support a Olympic? If China is breaking Tibet, U.S. is breaking Irak, and supporting Israel’s killing of palestines.
No, god, no all of us are perfect, but, neither China is able to support an Olympic, neither U.S. is able to critic it!

found two interesting articles from asianweek about this whole tibet fiasco that might be worth looking into:

The Giants fucking suck hard, haha.

I cycled over that bridge last summer - I live in Ireland so it was a big thing. Those protesters have balls. Giants suck!
I can’t use a few words to express my admirations for those heroes. I wrote an entire article in my blog. Please check it out.

Have a REASON, and think it through.
