I wonder how this story was verified?

When I first heard about it, I thought, “That sounds pretty sucky if true, but I bet I’ll hear a follow up about the girlfriend breaking up with him because he had no ring, only to pursuade some jewelry company to swing in for the PR.”

Now that the first part of my guess has filled in, I await the second.

I honestly believe this guy fabricated the story.

Plus… a $12,000 ring would be pretty heavy… how big of a balloon did he have to fill to lift the damn thing?
