New Bacon Precursor Discovered

A new species of wild pig previously unknown to science has been discovered in the Brazilian jungle.

The large creature grows to a length of more than four feet and is almost twice as heavy as its nearest relative. … Named the ‘giant peccary’, the creature was unknown until the skins and bones of animals killed by local hunters.

Yet another reason I must travel to Brazil, and soon. I will teach the locals the power of salt curing; I will be their king.

I know you have that “other” blog but please don’t stop this one. It’s posts like these that bring a tear to my eye.

Baaa-con. I love bacon. I even told the world of my love for bacon in my blog back in June…

This seems like the kind of thing you’ve probably already seen, but I just came across it for the first time:

On a semi-related note. (I don’t want to blaspheme, but …) I’ve been turned on to something almost as good as the bacon salt. It is chicken salt. Apparently it is widely used in Australia. A friend who has occasional cravings found a place to order it in the states. It is also good on almost everything. Give it a try if you have a chance.
