Barcadia: Dallas’ Latest Arcade Watering Hole
Published by travis August 28th, 2007 in Beer, Games. Share ThisBarcadia will be what its name suggests: a mishmash of a watering hole and a 12-game arcade situated in a 3,000-square-foot building at 1917 N. Henderson Ave. … Remember Galaxia? Ms. Pac Man? Frogger? Would-be players won’t be forced to feed six coins into games to play. Barcadia’s owners, Humphries and Billy Blatty, are committed to keeping each play a reasonable and traditional 25 cents.
Joel is a fan of Brooklyn’s Barcade, but now I’ll be able to enjoy my own retro bar and arcade when Barcadia opens in Dallas mid-October. Hit me up if you are ever interested in an ass-kicking in Galaga.
Factoid: Barcadia’s co-owner’s father is William Blatty, the mind behind the novel and screenplay of “The Exorcist”.
From the son of the guy who wrote “The Exorcist” and.., some other guy comes BARCADIA!!!
I, for the life of me, recall what 3k sq ft building exists over by the slip-inn, where this is to be located. Looking at it on google maps, it must be the old Mr. Pollo joint….
Yay!! Finally, a bar/lounge that will have nothing but 80’s music/videos & arcade games…nice!!! Can’t wait to check it out with friends.
Hey!! im excited about barcadia when will it open??
The last report I saw on Feb. 21st said it would be opening in 3 weeks (which should be sometime this week) but I haven’t heard anything else as of yet. :[
Its so nice to see that neighborhood changing. Cafe San Miguel, which I love and now a place to hang out and play my kind of arcade games. Haven’t been but trust me…………looking forward to it.
I accept your challenge in Galaga. I am the reigning king in my hometown of queens NY. Now i reside in Dallas. My high score ranges in the millions and i have over 2 hours of non-stop game play. Bring it ON!
