So it’s pretty obvious that Man vs. Wild is almost completely staged at this point, but this video is still worth it if only for the first worthwhile Youtube comment I’ve ever read:
What is not shown in this film is Les Stroud forming the island with his mighty hands. That large crevice in the earth is not a mistake when he created this island, because Les Stroud DOES NOT MAKE MISTAKES.
The whole “bear” story…

Ha. I was just getting ready to link that wiki, Joe. It’s pretty damning.
it’s funny how people get all up in arms when they realize they’re still gullible. yes, the show is misleading in it’s approach …but it’s TV!! and whether he’s as hardcore as he says he is or not …i still enjoyed watching him!
this is seems like lonelygirl15 on a much grander scale.
If you really watch both shows, it doesn’t take a rocket scientist to realize one guy is out there going it alone and the other has a group with him.
Some of the stuff Bear throws out as good ideas or even actually does are just totally counterproductive to keeping healthy in those kind of situations. Like running through a stream for miles on end. Dry is good kids. the climbing up and down the cliffs in the jungle..not unless it was a have to situation.
My GF doesn’t think either show makes sense, she thinks it is dumb for them to put themselves out there like that. I figure it’s better to have heard information I might never need than need it and not know it.
Les is the man. When he ate that rabbit in the snowy plane crash show, he ATE that rabbit, bones and all.
Take that sap licker.
Did you REALLY think you could trust a guy named “Bear”?
I know! Who names their kid “Bear”?
Apparently his real name is “Eddie.”
bear is just a nickname his real name is edward, and stop making fun of him. what would you all fell if someone tells that your all phony huh?
what if he stays in motels he’s just showing how to survive and to cross carefully.
