Unruly Heir Seersucker Hoodie

urhoodseer.jpgLove me, love my love for seersucker. I’m wearing some right now. Or I was, until I realized they were cut so unflatteringly that I was ashamed to even let my dog see me in them. But yesterday was the first muggy day in New York and I will be wearing those loose, airy pants like a Southern Bedouin all summer long, my gnarly toes peeking out over flip-flops.

Seersucker used to be an summer cloth, but we’re increasingly seeing it show up in incongruously warm clothing, like this hoodie/jacket from Unruly Heir. It’s sharp—I give it four “pip-pips” and a silver pocket-turnip—but it’s also two hundred dollars. I don’t care how cool hoodies are these days—as soon as you call a jacket a “hoodie” my internal spend-o-meter maps a yellow-to-red gradient under the $50 hatch.

And really? “Unruly Heir?” Was “Fancy Scamp’s Trampery” taken?
