My Name Is Bruce, Starring Bruce Campbell

If anyone other than Bruce Campbell decided to make a movie spoofing his most famous character—Ash, from the Evil Dead movies, although we also would have accepted “himself”—I’d call it the absolutely bottom of the barrel in fame for fame’s sake. But it’s Bruce “Shop Smart” Campbell, who can and has never done no wrong. His new movie, starring and directed by the man himself, is called “My Name Is Bruce,” and features the actor as he is “mistaken for his character Ash from the Evil Dead trilogy and forced to fight a real monster in a small town in Oregon.”
I’d watch Bruce Campbell sitting around scratching his own belly, so I’m already in the seats for this one when it comes out later this year. Anyone seen any trailers yet?

Reminded me of this movie that I thought was hilarious as a kid. It’s probably not hilarious as an adult.

If you liked the Evil Dead series (and who didn’t), you should check out Bubba Ho-Tep where he plays an aging Elvis trapped in a nursing home who teams up with a black guy who thinks he’s JFK to fight a mummy who’s eating the souls of the residents of their retirement community. Good stuff.
I actually didn’t care for Bubba Ho-Tep all that much, but I got to watch it for free on my digital cable’s “on demand,” so I couldn’t complain too much.
Nevertheless, I think this is awesome. Breaking the fourth wall is always good for a laugh.
Giulio: Bubba Ho-Tep is immense! I was on my way in here to reccomend it! Hes the best part of the new spider man movie too if you ask me.
