Fanboys (and that rare and wonderful breed of women, the elusive Fangirls) cheer for the stupid and yet so cool release of Jim Phillips’ Screaming Hand. It’s a hand, and it’s screaming. That’s it. Why is it so cool, because it’s blue? Because I’m a loser?
I’m looking at this thinking in no uncertain terms that I want it, but the mature, responsible adult in me demands to know exactly what the hell would I use it for? If it was up to my geektacular wife, it would stay in the box, all minty fresh, to only appreciate in value.

Is it supposed to be the hand from the anime ‘Vampire Hunter D’ or something?
Wasn’t this used as a skateboard design back in the ’80s?
for all us skateboarders from the 80’s. jim phillips was the artists who did skateboard graphics for santa cruz among others. if you skated in the 80s, you most likely rode a board with his graphics. the screaming hand was was a wheel graphic i believe for Speed Wheels and probably the most popular graphic in his portfolio. for an awesome studio visit, check this out:
