Astonishing what the average mortal can accomplish when he has a sick dream and the wherewithal to realize it. (The videographer put it best when he asks if there is a history of mental illness in the driver’s family.)
It’s a bumpy, noisome ride, could use a nice fiberglass cover, and I doubt that, in its current state, it can operate on anything other than flat surfaces. But watching all those legs go, and seeing the thing turn a 180 in one spot is just too damned cool.

Ho-ly shit. I squeeled like a little girl watching this (at work of course. my coworkers had to come see what i was up to this time). I want one so bad.
Is it sad that I too squeeled like a little girl when watching it?
That is rad.
How scary would it be if that thing was chasing you?
I want one too.
Crazy! A friend of mine helped build this thing. They took it down to Burning Man Festival two years ago. I’ve seen a few video’s of it on youtube but this is the best one yet.

Google failed me mostly for a good picture – but I did find this:

Called “Tarantula” (how creative)
That Wild, Wild West Tarantula was originally supposed to be in the Superman relaunch movie. At least according to Kevin Smith.
does anyone know how I can get a hold of the creator?
