Naked chicks holding booze and steaming offal plucked right from a goat’s carcass—what’s not to like about the party Sony threw to promote the Playstation 2’s last hurrah, “God of War II”? Apparently the dead goat, as animal rights groups are up in arms over party guests being up to their elbows in dead goat flesh.

Sure, as a piece of promotion it’s risky for Sony, who are somewhere between “embattled” and “beleaguered” on a good day, but can someone explain to me how using the corpse of a goat as a serving tray is any more “disrespectful” than the thousands of animals that die uneaten in industrial slaughterhouses every day? I mean, people realize that meat comes from dead animals, right?

It was pretty gross, but so is eating any meat. At least people at the party, pulling out roasted organ meat from the inside of a headless goat, knew exactly from whence their meal came. Why that’s almost more respectful.

Actually it seems not only did people not pull out the offal (someone did it for them thank god) but that they sent the goat BACK to the butcher after they where done.

While I kinda questioned Sony for doing this on the basis of the initial report, hearing that it was sent BACK to be finished in butchering and sold after they where done just makes me sick to my stomach for a entirely different reason.
