Adidas Gumball 3000 Sneakers: Cheaper Than a Ferrari

Adidas and Foot Locker have teamed up for a special run of racing shoes in honor of the legendary worldwide auto race “Gumball 3000,” in which bored dudes with more money than sense drive expensive cars across continents. (Yes, I’m jealous, because I’ll never in good conscience ever be able to go on my own and it’s been too well covered to go as a journalist.)
And what do you know? They aren’t too crappy at all. Sadly, if you’re wanting to live vicariously through a pair of branded shoes, pop by Foot Locker in a couple of weeks.

Meh. I did it a few years ago. The fast driving is fun - particularly in Morocco where we had permission from the King to disregard the national road laws - and it is rather bling. But: i) there’s not a huge opportunity for partying since you’re driving about 15 hours a day ii) I didn’t get to shag a supermodel and iii) a lot of the other competitors are, quite frankly, twats.
Good fun, but I probably wouldn’t do it again.
I did the rally in 2005. Managed to get quite a bit of partying in, however only 19 hours sleep in 6 days. Great fun, but sad to hear about the death this year.
Like the shoes, but a little too bling for me. The DC shoes from 2005 where a little more understated, but I guess Gumball isn’t ment to be understated.
Your training extends far beyond a single sport. Whatever your workout holds, this multi-purpose lightweight trainer with cushioning wants to take on your entire routine. Full-grain leather with perf details for comfort, soft feel and foot climate. Textile lining.
Yeah, you really need some decent training to keepup with the gumball partying. Theres no question about that, I don’t think adidas racing shoes are gonna help that much though.
