Girls Gone Wild Founder To Do Time

A lot of folks are amused by “Girls Gone Wild” founder Joe Francis’ sentencing to 35 days in jail for contempt of court.
He yelled at the attorneys and talked smack at the presiding judge, calling him a “judge gone wild.”
Having reached a settlement with the seven women who were suing him for shooting them as minors, his reasons for being in court in the first place were moot, but the settlement came through too late to spare him from his incident in the trial.
Francis is quoted as saying,
I am sorry for my behavior. It was wrong. I had heard about appeals and things and I was confused. I am sorry, I really am.
Nevertheless, surely many of us secretly love knowing that the pompous prick who has enjoyed far too much success on the assets of young and foolish women the world over is going to serve actual jail time for shooting off his mouth in a court of law. Here’s hoping his cell mates go wild, too.

He should shoot a video called “Inmates Gone Wild… on Joe Francis’ Anus.”
No doubt – good to see that you’re casting an editorial opinion on this jackass. For some great reporting on him (but mostly on a larger topic) check out Ariel Levy’s “Female Chauvinist Pigs: The rise of raunch culture”.
He may be a douchebag, but I hardly think the “young and foolish women” are all without blame. You don’t *have* to get drunk and take off your top for a camera, and you *don’t* go on Spring Break to Cancun to enjoy the history and swim at the beach. He took an idea and made a boatload of money on it. Just my $.02….
Yes, like drug and arms dealers, Halliburton execs and other such entrepreneurial genii, he just took an idea and made a bit of green. No harm in that, right?
In my opinion, twunts like him should fry, although I agree with him on one point. He is sorry, as in a sorry sack of excrement.
Wow, you’re actually comparing a guy who takes video of drunk girls with people who murder or milk our country of billions of dollars AND calling for his rape in prison or death by electrocution? No one can deny this guy is an anal tulip but come on, isn’t it a little late in the history of civilization for all this uncut puritanical hyperbole. If you have ever been to a strip club then you’ve don’t have too much room to talk. Paying a chick to disrobe on video so you can sell it isn’t THAT much different than paying her to disrobe between your knees at the Pink Pony. As the article points out, the so-called underage “injured parties” didn’t have a moral stance against taking a huge lump of his ill-gotten gains in settlement. This feigned moral posturing is laughable when you consider that you can just go to Mardi Gras or Ibiza and see all that stuff that made him millions, in real life and for free. Ya’ll just haters.
I know that no one cares, but I would just like to point out that I would like the douchebag in question to fry simply for being such a douchebag. I could not care any less about his audiovisual ouvre or his assorted exploits as an auteur. I just don’t like douchenozzles like him.
My opinion is not based on puritanistic beliefs. I really like tits. I just think that trashmerchants like the one in question, are human garbage and should cease to exist.
And I’m also jealous of his masterful business practices. Clearly.
This guy may be a douchebag, but hoping that he gets raped in jail seems a little extreme to me.
There’s nothing funny about rape, unless it happens to a criminal.
Actually, Joe Francis already was raped by someone with a giant dildo. There’s a really great-yet-awful story about him that ran in the LA Times a while back: http://www.latimes.com/features/magazine/west/la-tm-gonewild32aug06,0,2664370.story
He’s a pretty messed up dude. I don’t think prison, or that more rape will help. I do think he needs a woman or two to seriously kick his ass and level the playing field a bit on his fucked up power trip.
oh also, this isn’t the only thing he’s on trial for. he might get a lot more time for big time tax evasion, which is why they brought him in without bail in the first place
