twitools1.jpgThis week we looked at a “technicians’ bag” that’s meant for the cable guy but looks perfect for assembling a small tool kit for fixing stuff around the house – which is a great way to keep your tools from “disappearing” every time there’s a picture to hang or a door to adjust. We also checked out a saw guide that makes almost-table-saw-straight cuts with a circular saw – on the cheap – and extends enough to handle a full-sized sheet of plywood. But our favorite this week was a set of cargo blocks we found complete with rubber “teeth” spaced perfectly to fit into truck bed liner grooves; just friction-fit ‘em in to hold boxes in place, then pull ‘em out to slide in that sheet of plywood. Of special note to Dethroner readers: our One Beer Projects podcast where we pop a cold one and walk you through fixing a leaky faucet and framing, matting, and hanging a picture (for about a quarter the price of taking it to a pro) – all in about the time it takes to drink a beer.
