• 5PM, Discovery Health - Diagnosis: Unknown: Cruel Deception. A woman suffering from nausea, tingling in her extremities, seizures, and paralysis is suspected of being poisoned by her husband.
• 5PM, Discovery HD - Planet Earth: Ice Worlds. Frozen regions of the world, including the poles and the tops of mountain ranges, are explored. Featured: organisms that can survive in the coldest conditions on Earth.
• 5:30PM, USA - The Bourne Identity (movie): An amnesiac CIA assassin is targeted for elimination by his superiors.

• 6PM, PBS - Nature: Encountering Sea Monsters. The underwater world of cephalopods (octopuses and squid) is explored by cameraman Bob Cranston, who observes the creatures in waters off Indonesia, Australia, Mexico, British Columbia and Texas.
• 6PM, Discovery HD - Futurecar: The Body. Included: ultralight cars; tiny cars that lean; a reinvented version of the wheel.
• 6:30PM, FUEL - Motocross: Red Bull X-Fighters
• 7PM, Military Channel - Weaponology: Bomber. The development of bombers is traced, from bombs thrown from the cockpit in WWI to the latest laser-guided bunker-busters.
• 8PM, National Geographic - Hyenas at War: Following a family of spotted hyenas over an eight-year period in South Africa’s MalaMala Game Reserve. Filmmaker Kim Wolhuter records power struggles, and sexual and clan politics among the hyenas.
• 8PM, Animal Planet - Ants!- Nature’s Secret Power: It’s on ants, duh. They’re badass, watch it.
• 8PM, Discovery HD - Destination HD: Senegal. A trip to Senegal in West Africa includes remote areas and members of an Islamic brotherhood.
• 8PM, FUSE - The Texas Chainsaw Massacre (movie): Gory thriller about a family of murderous grave-robbers in rural Texas.
• 9PM, National Geographic - Explorer: Ultimate Hippo. Through animation, infrared imaging and up-close footage, hippopotamus attacks on humans are examined. Included: a Zimbabwe safari guide’s tale of survival.
• 9PM, Animal Planet - Prehistoric Park: Bird House. Nigel Marven heads out to China in order to find the Microrapter, a prehistoric winged dinosaur and encounters a volcanic eruption.
• 9PM, Science Channel - Rendezvous with Saturn’s Moon: The Huygens probe prepares to land on Titan, the largest of Saturn’s moons. Included: technological aspects of the spacecraft.
• 9PM, Discovery Health - Sex Mania: Sexual compulsion and addiction are examined.
• 9PM, STMAX - Kiss Kiss Bang Bang (great movie): A hood and a PI team to investigate a mysterious murder in Hollywood that involves the sister of the hood’s former flame.
• 9PM, HBOF - Raising Arizona (movie): Farce about a childless couple hoping to start a family by stealing a quint
• 10PM, National Geographic - Hunter and Hunted: Kidnapped. A report on baboons attacking people focuses on a 2003 incident in northern South Africa in which a 3-month-old baby was snatched from his bed, then hurled to the ground by a male baboon. The boy died of head injuries.
• 10PM, Science Channel - Catching the Comet: A chronicle of NASA’s mission to the Wild 2 Comet includes an analysis of comet dust that has been collected and the technology used to accomplish that in space.
• 10PM, Discovery Health - Untold Stories of the E.R.: Prepare for the Worst. Three men with gunshot wounds are treated as gang members threaten the doctor; a patient has his fingers reattached.
• 10PM, Sundance - The Motorcycle Diaries (movie): Portrait of Ernesto ‘Che’ Guevara as a young man on a life-changing journey across South America in 1952.
• 11PM, ESPN2 - Hot Dog Eating Contest: The 2004 Nathan’s Famous International event from Coney Island, N.Y., followed by the 2005 AND the 2006!
• 11PM, G4 - Arrested Development: 2 hours are on in a row tonight. One of the best shows ever made.
• 11PM, MTV2 - Headbangers Ball: At midnight on Saturdays from 1987 to ‘95, MTV provided hard-rock and metal fans with videos of their favorite bands, including Anthrax, Metallica, Megadeth and Guns n’ Roses.
• 12:30AM, ESPN2 - Brat Eating World Championship: Defending champ Sonya Thomas, Takeru Kobayashi and Joey Chestnut are top dogs in the featured event at Johnsonville Brat Days in Sheboygan, Wisc. Thomas consumed 35 brats in 10 minutes to take the 2005 title in an event that dates back to the 1950s.
• 1AM, Bravo - 100 Funniest Movies: The countdown of winning film comedies concludes with the Top 25
• 1AM, Speed - Barrett-Jackson: The Auctions: Highlights from the 2007 classic-car event in Scottsdale, Ariz.
• 1AM, Comedy Central - Fast Times at Ridgemont High (movie): Seriocomedy about adolescent obsession with sex, drugs, and rock and roll.
• 1:30AM, ESPN2 - World Hamburger Eating Championship: Third annual Krystal Square Off in Chattanooga. Two-time champ Takeru Kobayashi put down 67 burgers in eight minutes last year, edging Joey Chestnut’s 62. Sonya Thomas was third and “Humble Bob” Shoudt finished fourth.
