The Burton “Lil Buddy” is exactly the sort of “for men” product that could easily go off the rails; a goofy design or outrageous price might have been narrowly avoided, considering the name. But for just $55 the Lil Buddy provides a cooler with enough space for twelve cans (or bottles, presumably) of beer, zipper pulls that double as bottle openers, and a built-in amp and speakers, all inside a perfectly pleasant-looking padded plaid bag. (More staid colors are available, too.) This makes me nostalgic for beachside parties I never had. Good job, Burton!

It can be had for $50 on Amazon.
I’d be interested to see how it sounds . . . also interested to see if it is one of those crap collers that require you to use ice packs or keep your ice in bags b/c it isn’t waterproof.
It sounds good.
The speakers have protective metal plates, really strong and more dent resistant than any mobile speakers I have seen. They also have a significant amount of velcro in two inch strips holding the removable speakers in.
And this is Burton here so you have to assume there are taped seams on the bottom inside the cooler. The only stitching that may get wet is at the top by the zipper, but it is insignificant. The real question is how long will 4 AA batteries required to power the amp last? But it does have a 6V DC receiver if you happen to have the business end lying around.
