• 6PM, Science Channel - Science of the Deep: The Hostile Deep. Researchers use submersibles and ROVs to find superheated hydrothermal vents and examine the strange creatures that cluster around them.
• 6PM, Discovery Times - New Detectives: Unlikely Sources. Unlikely sources for solving crimes include evidence from the seemingly implausible, such as insect larvae and beer bottles.
• 6:30, G4 - Ninja Warrior: Human physical ability is tested in each episode, as 100 competitors push their limits through a physically demanding four-stage course.
• 7PM, Food Network - Good Eats: This Spud’s for You Too. Alton’s stranded at the home of his No. 1 fan, who demands that he prepare potato dishes. Included: potato soup; potato salad; Swiss rosti.
• 7PM, Discovery Channel - Survivorman: Georgia Swamp. Les Stroud tries to survive a week alone with no equipment in a George swamp in the Altamaha River Basin, with only numerous blood-sucking insects, snakes and alligators for company.
• 7PM, National Geographic - Crash Science: Runaway Vehicles. Examining technological advancements making roadways safer. Included: special techniques highway police use to apprehend fleeing vehicles; the stopping power of runaway truck ramps; safety measures implemented in cement medians.

• 7PM, Science Channel - Science of the Deep: Robots of the Deep. Undersea robotics, including Remote Operated Vehicles and Autonomous Underwater Vehicles, are examined. Also: the next wave of underwater robotics technology.
• 7PM, Discovery HD - Africa’s Elephant Kingdom: Profiling an extended elephant family that includes an old bull as they embark on a difficult journey across the African plains.
• 7:30PM, Food Network - Unwrapped: Retro. Waxing nostalgic for old-time snack foods like Screaming Yellow Zonkers and sugary candy buttons. (Marc Summers is sort of a tool, but the factory tours they do are neat.)
• 8PM, Discovery Channel - Man vs. Wild: African Savannah. Bear parachutes into the Kenyan savannah from a hot-air balloon, where he finds himself surrounded by dangerous animals, including rhinos, lions, leopards, elephants and cape buffalo. He builds a tent from natural materials.
• 8PM, National Geographic - Impossible Moves: Machines. A look at massive machinery used to move rolling stock for 200 miles to London’s Underground; an attempt to raise a wrecked airplane from the bottom of a lake in Manitoba.
• 8PM, Science Channel - Hot Rocks: The Geology of Civilization: Risky Rocks. Host Iain Stewart observes tectonic forces at work beneath the Mediterranean and how earthquakes and volcanoes have affected the people of the area.
• 8PM, Military Channel - Weaponology: Vertical Take Off. Examining the history of vertical takeoff aircraft. Included: development of engine power; advanced avionic, target and survival systems.
• 9PM, PBS - Secrets of the Sexes: Attraction. Part 2. Sexual attraction is studied through a speed-dating experiment. Also: a man and woman both looking for love; finding a perfect mate.
• 9PM, Travel Channel - 1000 Places to See Before You Die: Brazil. The Ulles, the traveling couple, fly to Brazil where they see the exotic landscapes surrounding the Amazon and the exciting city of Rio; the couple explores the country’s colorful pastime and the varied people that make up its populace.
• 10PM, Food Network - Throwdown with Bobby Flay: Cuban Roast Pork. Bobby takes on Miami’s Roberto Guerra and his renowned Cuban roast pork.
• 10PM, Showtime - Penn & Teller: Bullshit!: Detoxing is discussed.
• 10PM, History Channel - Modern Marvels: Yard Tech. Lawn technology is explored. Included: a tour of the Toro Company to examine lawn mowers; a trip to the Scotts Company to learn about varieties of grass seed. Also: the Rain Bird automatic-sprinkler system; and the Davey tree-moving company.
• 10PM, Travel Channel - Europe’s Largest Aquarium: Experts at The Science Park at Valencia, Spain discuss how they prepared for the opening of the largest aquarium in Europe, including the steps necessary to build the perfect environment for animals and how they collected species around the world.
• 10:30PM, Showtime - This American Life: The Camera Man. Chris Ware’s animated short recalls a grade-school “TV-camera craze”; documentarian G.J. Echternkamp profiles his parents, including his eccentric birth mother and his “bane-of-my-existence” stepfather.

What about “The Showbiz Show?”
I’ve never seen “The Showbiz Show”. What’s it about?
“The Showbiz Show” is David Spade doing his “Hollywood Minute” thing from SNL. He’s got a few other things, but it’s basically him rippnig on celebs for 30 minutes. It’s a riot!
And _please_ add “House” and “King of Cars” next week. :)
