McGowen, who lives near Weatherford, lost his eyesight in a plane crash 17 years ago. At first, he didn’t hunt because he didn’t know it was possible. For years, he was unable to partake in a lifetime hobby. Then he acquired a fitted pistol scope that lets his hunting partner to look over his shoulder to adjust his shot.
“You can hunt, but it’s difficult,” he said. “He tells me to move up, down, left or right, and once I’m on target he tells me when to shoot.”
