• 6PM, History Channel – Che: A profile of the guerrilla leader and revolutionary Ernesto “Che” Guevara (1928-67), who assisted Fidel Castro’s rise to power in Cuba during the late 1950’s.
• 7PM, Cartoon Network – Spirited Away (movie): Oscar winner for best animated feature, this 2001 fantasy concerns a 10 year old girl who is separated from her parents and whisked off to a bizarre world of mythical, shape-shifting creatures. Rated PG, so it’s a good one for the kids(and one of my favorites).
• 7:30, VS. – World Strongman Cup: Action from events around the world.
• 8PM, Bravo – Ferris Bueller’s Day Off (movie): A classic.
• 8PM, Comedy Central – Friday (movie): “Day-in-the-’hood” comedy set in South Central LA.
• 8PM, Discovery Channel – Human 2.0: Speculating how biology and technology will be combined to create a new kind of human.
• 8PM, National Geographic Channel – Moonshine: A look at moonshine examines the illegal homemade liquor, its history, its relation to NASCAR and possible dangers the drink poses. Real stills in the Appalachians.
• 9PM, Discovery Channel – Expedition Borneo: Explorers, biologists and filmmakers team for an expedition deep into the heart of Borneo in search of rare and unique plant and animal species, including reptiles, primates and birds. They also discover an enormous cave.
• 9PM, MOMAXe – The 40-Year-Old Virgin (movie): A good hearted nebbish searching for the right woman, or any woman, to sleep with him,
• 9:30PM, DIY – Wood Works: Open Display Case. How to make a display case.
• 10PM, Animal Planet – Wild Kingdom: America’s Savanna. Examining the North American prairie that existed from the open meadows of the Midwest to the eastern foothills of the Rockies, and the unique plants and animals that populated it. Only 20% of the original prairie remains.
• 10PM, DIY – Wood Works: Inlaid Corner Table. How to make a corner table that features an ebony inlay on the table top.
• 10PM, MSNBC – Super Size Me (movie): 2004 expose of the fast food industry where Morgan Spurlock eats exclusively at McDonalds for 30 days. The film also looks at school-lunch programs, food-industry lobbyists and America’s obesity rate.
• 11PM, PBS – Doctor Who: World War Three. The Dr, Rose and Harriet are trapped inside Downing Street while outside, interplanetary war looms.

• 11:30PM, Discovery Channel – How It’s Made: They Don’t release what is going to be on ahead of time, bastards. It’s a good show, worth a watch.
• 12AM, Spike – Fight Club (movie): A white-collar worker fed up with his upwardly mobile lifestyle. After meeting the mysterious Tyler, he joins a brutal club whose members relieve their frustrations by beating each other to a pulp. But all is not as it seems…
• 12AM, MTV – Jackass: Name of the show says it all.
Did anybody watch The Tudors? I meant to watch it, then remembered I’d canceled Showtime. Were bodices ripped?
