These mother-of-pearl collar stiffeners from T.M. Lewin are the definition of elective, but of a pleasing appearance. (If you spent $80 on these, which when used properly are not even visible, you’d be a chump—a chump with a nice set of collar stiffeners.)
They’re one of a few fancy collar stiffeners Brandish has assembled for your perusal. I don’t know why anybody would pay more than that on an item nobody can see.
In a pinch, you can use a pair of large paper clips. Just remember to remove them before you wash or you’ll get rust on your shirt.
when my sister worked at banana republic, she stole a bunch of their metal ones for me. they work great, and if you remember to not toss them, you only need 5 or so.
