Collar Stiffeners of Unnecessary Fanciness

These mother-of-pearl collar stiffeners from T.M. Lewin are the definition of elective, but of a pleasing appearance. (If you spent $80 on these, which when used properly are not even visible, you’d be a chump—a chump with a nice set of collar stiffeners.)
They’re one of a few fancy collar stiffeners Brandish has assembled for your perusal. The plastic ones get the job done most of the time, but if you’re going to spend the cash, you might also consider the Wurkin Stiffs, magnetic stiffeners that not only keep your collar pointed, but keep it held down tight.

i second the Wurkins …great purchase.
Brooks Brothers has packages of like 50 in a small glass container for $7. You can find them at the register or online at their website: http://tinyurl.com/3cea3q
I don’t know why anybody would pay more than that on an item nobody can see.
In a pinch, you can use a pair of large paper clips. Just remember to remove them before you wash or you’ll get rust on your shirt.
when my sister worked at banana republic, she stole a bunch of their metal ones for me. they work great, and if you remember to not toss them, you only need 5 or so.
