Trick Out Your Mixer

The KitchenAid mixer is one hell of a great addition to any kitchen where people actually cook or bake once in a while. It’s sturdy as hell, powerful enough to handle just about any job you could throw at it, and man, it just looks good. The very design evokes strength and elegance, and denotes to the casual observer that the owners of said device are damned serious about their food.
But to some people’s eyes the KitchenAid mixer seems to be missing something. What could that be? Answer: a flamejob!
Joel agrees that the KitchenAid mixer is badass and that he and Susie need one, but he feels the flames thing is “played.” I’m more of the mind that says “whatever, it’s rad.” I like the 50’s rockabilly aesthetic, always did, always will, screw trends. Besides, it would totally match my drapes.

Its a bite off of Alton Browns mixer on Good Eats. His has a flamejob on it. But hes good enough to have earned the right to have a flame job on it.
If you cant cook for shit, dont do it, you’ll just look silly.
Actually, we have one. And it’s awesome.
Was actually thinking about customizing my old K45SS. It’s currently a white one and pretty damn boring. And old enuf that if I totally mess it up, its no huge deal (besides, I smell smoke when I make pizza dough in the thing… its one of the older, not-quite-as-high-wattage ones). I was going to take the take the thing apart, rough the shell up with sandpaper, and mask on a two tone paint job with appliance paint. Sort of thinking a tribal tattoo-esque kind of thing with black on red right now.
Well I made them after so mad that it wasn’t easy. Working on Diamond plate and cowspots now. Getting a big write up in Redbook for their July 2007 issue, and pleased as punch whenever people pimp their mixer. I have some other people’s airbrushed jobs

which make me look not so crazy! Trying to figure out a flaming butterfly but it is hard to make it go on all mixers easily.
Best Wishes,
