I’ve been learning to fly R/C helicopters over the last couple of weeks—Okay, I’ve been crashing one model repeatedly into my neighbors’ fence—so I have an inkling of what a pain in the ass they are to pilot. That’s part of the reason this video of German pilot Charlie Zimmermann threading a German Bo 105 twin-engine utility helicopter through a forest makes my balls retreat into a bunker deep in my pelvis. The other reason is the bitchin’ ’70s funk/detective soundtrack with belies the age of this clip. (My balls are really sensitive to slap bass.)

I just urinated onto myself. you might want to stop by your local airfield and take an trial lesson (they should run you somewhere around $200).

Joel . . . have you graduated from the Picoo Z yet? I got one b/c of this blog, it broke (something electrical, not crash) in less than an month, and then they sent me a chinese knockoff to replace it, which has some, ahem, structural issues (no more skids, b/c one broke off pretty quick) but has a better battery.

Let me know how your continued r/c copter exploits go . . .

I am testing a $100 model that I will report back on once I can actually get it in the air. So don’t worry if I’m crashing anything expensive. I didn’t even pay for it!
