I Like Totally Love It Dot Com: Digg-Clone for Products

“I Like Totally Love It” is a new Digg-like ranking site that is oriented towards ranking products as opposed to news. It’s not an entirely new idea—Wists does something similar, albeit in a more del.icio.us than diggy way—but there seems to be a fair amount of thought that’s been put into the service, with discussion links, tags, topics, and even sorting by price range.
Of course, these sort of social ranking sites really only become useful if they gain enough traction to establish a sizable user base, and ILTLI doesn’t seem to be quite there yet. (The average vote count for an item seems to be in the single digits.) Nevertheless, for a Pligg-based clone, it’s got a friendly zazz, and I wish them well.
You know what would be awesome? If there was an ILTLI sidebar for Dethroneresque products. Maybe you shouldn’t build a whole site around these ranking systems, but use them as a way for an existing audience—modest as we may be—to rank amongst ourselves. If we weren’t already behind in our development projects already, that would almost be worth considering.

Actually, we were thinking about that feature some time ago. Could you elaborate on that idea a bit so that we know what people would expect from such a sidebar.
