I’m going to lose massive man point with this one, but outside of Slim Jim – does that REALLY count as sausage? – I despise the meat. Looks gross, smells gross, odd textures (at least from the small sampling I’ve had over the years).

I’ll take my beef jerky, please.

The supermarket just over the border in Germany(I’m in Switzerland) seems to have over 1,000 varieties of Sausage at it’s meat counter. I’m still not certain what things like Teewurst are, other than they are soft and frightening.

Weisswurst are also scary, the Munichers dip them into sweet mustard and suck the flesh from them, discarding the skin.

There is an excellent episode of Good Eats on sausage that is worth watching if you’re interested in making your own at home. It really doesn’t seem as hard as I thought it would be.
