Gentleman’s Emporium: Online Victorian Clothing Retailer

There’s costumes—and then there’s fashion. I think building a wardrobe that is a pastiche of various influences, blended into something that is more than quirky affectation, is a worthwhile goal for anyone in search of their own sense of style.
What I’m trying to say is this: If you buy entire outfits from Gentleman’s Emporium, a Victorian-themed clothing store for men and women, you better be wearing them to a costume party. That said, there are some fantastic pieces here, from coats to cravats, along with period accessories like canes and pocket watches.
They even have a page of pre-configured archetypes; select “Kincade Livingston, Esq., Attorney at Law” and they’ll queue up a derby, suspenders, pocket watch, pants, town coat, vest, and striped shirt for just a bit over $400.
My personal style tends to incorporate a fair amount of this sort of shit, along with western wear—here and there; I’m not a total twat—so I’ll be keeping an eye on both Gentleman’s Emporium and their sister shop, Western Emporium.

Damn you for posting this, Joel. I have enough crack in my life already without needing to spend more on these wonderful clothes.
i know i think its awesome. if only i weren’t poor.
Haha, we did a “Victorian Ball” in our high school History Club: everyone dressed up as though it was 1860. We rented out some ass-old house in the area and danced to really old music played by old people on old instruments. Yes, we were nerds.
But seriously, some of the Victorian men’s duds, especially the Scottish variants with kilts were pretty badass.
