Java Logs aren’t the things that take you by surprise about 10 o’clock in the morning—they’re fire logs made from pressed coffee grounds. 6 for $50 is sort of painful, though. [Whole Latte Love]

We use JavaLogs exclusively in our fireplace. I find that they do not smell “chemically” like Duraflames, etc. Unfortunately, they don’t smell like coffee, either. Anyway, we find them competitively priced with Duraflames in the grocery stores around SF.
I bought a Java log three weeks ago and it was pointless. The crackling effect is relentless and uniform, like popcorn, and while the log smells of coffee if you sniff it, no such scent is released by the flame.
