Elvis Voted “Most Iconic” Hairstyle

According to an unnamed study quoted by a couple of news outlets, I have learned two things: Elvis Presley’s hairstyle has been voted “most iconic” of all time; People in the UK call Elvis’s hairstyle a “quiff.” (From “coif,” I wonder?)
Other iconic hairstyles from this apocryphal list, from second place to fifth? Elvis Presley, Marilyn Monroe, Audrey Hepburn, Princess Diana, and Bob Marley. Sounds to me like “iconic” overpowered the actual “hairstyle” judgement on some of those. (Although I’d give Marley and Di their due, as their hair was immutably much of their image.)
This does bring to mind something I’ve been thinking about: Does slicking back one’s hair for a formal function seem classy (presuming it’s warranted) or always cheeseball?
always, always, always cheeseball.
Cheeseball. I’d even add more “always”es.
You might as well grow a thin mustache just above your upper lip, wear a white dinner jacket with black pants, and put a big red rose in your lapel.
And don’t forget to smoke, and call every woman “darling”.
As for the “list”, though: Audrey Hepburn?
Cheeseball? No. More like Scuzzball in all of my experience.
I love cheese.
as a man who sports this style myself in the face of much derision it is excellent news that elvis, I and others like us are getting our recognition.
Well voted everyone!
stay true, be creative, love light and sound……and big hair!!!
