Probably partly due to the fact that they're socially acceptable now, compared to the scandalous 50's. I hope in 30-40 years we don't have hardcore split-leg porn on t-shirts, painted on the noses of warplanes or anything like that. All bets are off in Japan though. My own personal "collection" is limited to a couple faux-50s pinup paintings I bought at the open-air market in Havana a couple years ago. They're slightly less tacky than a Budweiser poster in the "men's room" where we drink beer and play Xbox, although one is an "ad" for Cristal Beer and the other for Havana Club rum (also available in said room) :) Yeah there’s something “classy” about old-school pinups.
