carl: The black on black can work really well if you do it by the right processes… instead oof getting it embossed, ask your printer about “UV Coating” its like a high gloss coating that feels a bit rubbery/plasticy, you have probably seen it on higher end magazines and bookjackets.

Its a bit pricey, and most smaller printhouses wont be able to acheive it, but the effect you get is just beauty. especially if you got it done as a clear coating on a matte black cardstock… very slick

Yeah not so much.. I don’t think it would work in a professional setting but, it is brilliant if you want to be remembered which is half the battle.

But As an Aside what opions do you guys have about a black on black business card with raised lettering. Matte background and glossy font.

Clever? Yes, but try dialing the phone number and reading it from the card at the same time.
