(note the lack of tension in the ropes from his shoulders, and the main parachute is still packed together). The distance between the arm and the ground isn't great enough for the parachute to open fully without help, so he's hooked the drone onto the statue to make sure it catches the air as soon as possible, with hopefully some sort of tension-release system :) Great photo though, good way to show the scale of the statue! :) My guess is that he’s base-jumping, not just caught or hanging.
