JimiX: The Jimi with a Money Clip

jimix.jpgFrom Jimi, makers of the love-it-or-hate-it Jimi wallet, comes the JimiX—a Jimi with an external money clip. I’ve yet to be persuaded by a Jimi and the addition of a money clip doesn’t get me any closer, partially because the translucent plastic still doesn’t scream class. (Not that my tattered leather wallet does either, mind you.)

$16; Available in blue, clear, safety orange, and stealth (black).

I had a Jimi for awhile and I couldn’t agree more, they may be long on functionality, but they’re far short on class. I just couldnt’ take myself seriously, 23 years old, with a plastic wallet.

Know of any classy card/money clip wallets?

So, Joel, the question is, if you had to get a replacement for your tattered leather wallet, what would you get? Keep in mind, price is an object.

I have to admit that the Jimi is a novel concept, but the plastic thing scares me. Do I want to be that dork?

I stopped using a wallet 15+ years ago and it’s been a great way to reduce the clutter. I have a simple metal money clip, no moving parts to wear out, no monograms, nothing. It’s just a simple, shiny bent piece of metal but it works like a champ.
I think, what do I really need with me and that is what gets put into the money clip. Typically it’s driver’s license, insurance card, 3-7 bills and then one credit card with the two hard cards anchoring it all together. No more receipts from 3 years ago documenting my purchase of some chewing gum.

I’m under the distinct impression that the Jimi is for femmes, like me.
