Smoking Poll: Do You Smoke In Your Home?
5 Comments Published by Joel November 9th, 2006 in Smoking. Share ThisI’ve almost always smoked outside for a couple of reasons. First, I can’t stand the smell of stale smoke (it’s bad enough on my clothes). Second, if I let myself smoke inside I’d be chain-smoking like crazy. When I was about 21 and living alone in an apartment furnished with just my computer, I let myself smoke indoors. For about three weeks a HEPA filter kept up with the smell, then died in a puff of charcoal. I started forcing myself to lean out the window to smoke and found my intake dropped by half. (Thanks, Mike, for the poll suggestion!)
I currently live with two non-smoking roommates, so I always step out on the balcony. I’ve never really liked smoking indoors, for the same reasons as you, but at the last two apartments I had to myself, I started smoking inside a month or two before I moved out. I figured, things won’t get too skanky if I don’t smoke inside for too long, and I was about to move anyway, so screw it.
Yep, I smoke inside.
And yep, I chain smoke like crazy.
But that’s cause I work 10 to 16 hour days and can’t smoke but 2ce during my work days.
(And it’s a loooooooong walk to get outside to smoke.)
Still, I’m gonna try to start stepping out on the porch to smoke.
Mainly because I finally HAVE a porch (yay!)
Stale smoke didn’t always smell bad. I can remember when they made cologne that smelled like tobacco.
For those who strut aroung saying they don’t like to smell it,light bulbs are available that kill that and all other smells.
Ed, you are SO shitting me right?!
Light bulbs that kill that smell? OMG…where do I buy them?
Seriously.
I think I have to agree with you at HOME cause I smoke here.
But when I clean the walls…..eccccccch.
At work, due to no smoking inside, ANY tobacco smell just JUMPS at ya.
I’m used to it, yet, as I said…the half smoked cigs just plain ole fashion stinkola….
To Rory:
The smell killing light bulb is called “Fresh2″ and they have a website under that name.
Unfortunately,it won’t kill complainers.
