By linking the Terra Plana TripClip I am by no means endorsing it, but at 9 measly dollars… I’ve seen stupider things for more money. The idea is simple: Clip up baggy jeans to make sure they don’t drag in the muck.
Of course, you could just roll them up. That’s what all the hipster kids are doing these days anyway. It can’t possibly look dorkier than the TripClip.

So you wear baggy jeans so you can look “gangsta.” Then you put a plastic clip on teh bottom? That’s about as gangsta as steve urkel.
Or one could simply buy jeans that actually FIT correctly. And failing that, they could have other jeans that don’t come in the correct lengths hemmed to size. Who wants to wear a bright green clip on their pantleg?
Are pants that don’t fit properly still cool?
Actually, I think I saw the hammer swing the other way (with an equal and opposite reaction) when I saw some skater kids in straight up TIGHT pants. Like, maybe some lycra or spandex material involved tight. Weird.
scott, no that is the horrifying trend of the sk8er bois and the emo kids of wearing girls’ jeans, because they are super tight. They are indeed usually stretch jeans that have spandex involved and they accentuate the malnourished chicken legs on most of these dorks.
There is still a large group of people that go for the baggy look, though.
