I know we’re falling far afield of this week’s theme today, but suck it up. Besides, how awesome does Grindhouse look, full of violence, prosthetic leg cannons, and gore galore? Oh, and co-starring Tom Savini, one of the all-time greats of horror make-up.
Tarantino and Rodriguezare best when they are dishing up pure shlock: Grindhouse looks about as shlocky as they come.
Moderately NSFW, depending on how your work feels about horn-heavy soundtracks and gushing gouts of blood.
While I’m sure that these guys are capable of greater things, I’m so glad that they produce these types of movies. The film critic crowd will hate, hate, hate this but it looks like something that I’ll watch on DVD at least 100 times.
I don’t like that Tom Savini guy. I remember him from Dusk til Dawn and thought his acting sucked. I understand he’s a kick-ass horror make-up dude, but does he HAVE to be IN the movies too?
