I Hugged SpaceShip One

i-hugged-spaceship-one470.jpgLast night at the WIRED NextFest preview we noticed that SpaceShip One was hidden behind a big curtain. I really wanted to touch it, because it had been in space. You can see my excitement in the first picture.

After I got sauced on the show floor, one of the editors at Wired wanted to see SS1, so we went back there again, when I noticed there was a ladder. I climbed on the travel trailer and got my squeeze, then almost died on the way back down thanks to some slippery shoes.

This morning I found out it was just a replica. My quest to touch something from space continues. Watch out, John Glenn’s balls!

I can hook a brotha up! The moon museum (http://mobile.orbit.zkm.de/?q=node/148) is at the gallery down the street from my house right now! Jesse got to touch it.

If you ever get to DC, check out the Air & Space museum. There used to be a moon rock you can touch. Granted any part of it that was ever exposed to space has been worn away by immeasurable tourists, but still it’s piece of the friggin moon!

Oh, and remember to bring Purell…
