Wurkin Stiffs Magnetic Collar Stays
Published by Joel September 26th, 2006 in Clothes, Gadgets. Share This
Wurkin Stiffs collar stays are metal, keeping your shirt collar pointy, but also in place when you slip the attached neodymium magnets underneath your shirt. Since the magnets appear to have a smooth underside, they don’t even look all that uncomfortable.
Twenty bucks, plus shipping. (More if none of your shirts have pockets in the collars for stays and you have buy all new ones.)

So funny, I am wearing these today, and was going to suggest a link to them. They work great. Completely eliminates disco collar.
Joey said it best. I am using them today myself. Keeps your collar from looking like the Flying Nun.
I have a set of these collar stays as well and they do work wonderfully. One word of caution: remember you are using these before de-shirting because you can break the magnetic link between the stay and the magnet causing the magnet to dissapear somewhere in the closet/bathroom/car in which you are disrobing.
“I’m looking for one of my neodymium magnets!” is not something you want to have to say when the girl you just picked up at the bar catches you crawling around on the floor inspecting every dead roach and Cheeto your searching paws come across.
Much like a Zippo brand lighter vs. Bic, I’d probably keep tabs on them because they were metal. I seem to lose the hard plastic ones that generally come with shirts after one or two wears only to find them months later under some furniture or in my dogs mouth.
I fear because they are easily shapeable I may be inclined to do something silly with my collar just to mix it up.
Glad you liked the tip.
You’re so right about these being more expensive than their purchase price.
After I got these, I went out and bought a ton of new shirts. I used to be a button-down collar type. No more.
One other point, the box that these came in got smashed up pretty quickly. Of course, its just card stock and a plastic insert. Those magnets are pretty strong and pulling them out of the palstic insert smashes it up something awful.
To keep them all together, I put them in an Altoids tin. Since it’s metal, there’s no chance of them falling out when I toss them in a bag to pack or the cat getting at them.
I normally don’t leave reviews of products I buy, but these collar stays are probably one of the best fashion accessories I have purchased in a long time! They make even the cheapest shirts look expensive (something I needed desperately).
Anyway, I purchased the Executive Box set (2.5″) and it’s holding up well.
What else can you buy for $50 that you can use everyday???
