Beertron: Maxim and Icehouse Make “Emotional Connection”

My Mac has, in its wisdom, decided to not play audio with Flash files, so I can’t tell you what exactly is supposed to be going on in the “Brewtron” commercials from Icehouse that are currently running on Maxim.com. Because Brewtron is the sort of viral marketing to which the average internet dude is largely innured, I first stumbled on Brewtron in a post about the marketing campaign itself. Some VP had this to say about your psychology:
“It’s all about creating that emotional connection with guys in an environment they trust.”
A volleyball-playing robot? Tugs at the heart strings. Maxim.com? The bosom of security.
If that speaks to you and your wallet, please enjoy. It looks like viral video is the big-brand breweries’ marketing push of the fall.

Semi-unrelated, but if you have an intel Mac, open up garageBand, create a new song, record some piano with the on-screen keyboard, then play it back. Exit garageBand, restart your browser (maybe) – voila, audio in flash again!
