#9 actually works! this apt i was loiving in had a bathtub whose edge was not level and the water hitting the wall would wind around the other two walls instead of draining straight into the tub. instead it drained on the floor in a way that wasn’t obvious to me, but it was to my neighbor whose ceiling started to collapse after a while. i bought the incarnation of Uliti-Mate called T-D-Tub. a plastic right-angle-shaped piece that epoxied to the floor-facing corners of the shower and herded the water back into the tub where it belonged.
and re: #8, i have a peugeot pepper grinder and it kicks ass!
